Pixerbook Album Studio

Forty spreads before lunch.

Album design is the least creative creative work in a studio: the same layouts, the same crops, the same export settings, once per event, forever. Album Studio does the repetitive nine tenths and leaves you the tenth that matters.

Auto-layout from the approved selectionSpread templates you can save and reuseDrag, swap and re-crop without leaving the pagePress-ready export with bleed and margins

What it does

Design albums in minutes.

The layout tool your designer actually wants. Auto-fill spreads from the client selection, adjust what you disagree with, and export press-ready in one pass.

01

It starts from the selection, not from an empty page

Pull the approved list straight out of Photo Picks in the Pixerbook Platform and the first draft lays itself out — chronological, grouped, with the portraits and the wide frames in sensible places. You begin by disagreeing with a finished album rather than by dragging the first photograph onto a blank spread.

  • Auto-layout from an approved Photo Picks selection
  • Or from a folder, if you select outside Pixerbook
  • Chronological and event-group ordering
  • Frame-aware placement for portrait and panoramic shots

02

Templates, because you already have a house style

Every studio has twenty layouts it actually uses. Save them once, with your margins and your gutter, and apply them by keystroke. The album stops being designed from scratch and starts being assembled.

  • Save any spread as a reusable template
  • Keyboard-driven apply and cycle
  • Per-album margin, gutter and bleed defaults
  • Template sets per product — 12×18, square, mini

03

Native, because RAW files are heavy

This is the reason it is a desktop app and not a browser tab. It reads directly from your disk with no upload step, uses the whole machine for rendering, and a 40-spread album with 300 full-resolution images stays responsive. Nothing to lose when a tab closes.

  • Direct disk access — no upload, no sync wait
  • Multi-core rendering and GPU-accelerated preview
  • Works offline, on location, with no connection
  • Your files stay on your machine unless you send them

04

Export once, correctly

Press-ready means the thing your printer asks for: correct bleed, correct margins, embedded profile, the right colour space, in one pass. The export preset is saved per printer, so the second album goes out without the phone call.

  • Press-ready PDF and per-spread TIFF or JPEG
  • Bleed and safe-margin guides matched to the printer
  • ICC profile embedded, CMYK or RGB as required
  • Saved presets per printer and per album product
Who this is not for. This is not a page-layout application. If you want full typographic control and custom vector work on every spread, use InDesign — this is built to be fast at one specific job, and speed comes from not offering everything.

Desktop app

Native on Mac and Windows.

One licence, both platforms, and project files that open on either — so a designer on a Mac and one on Windows can hand work back and forth with nothing to convert. It is a desktop application because it moves gigabytes of full-resolution files around, and a browser tab is the wrong place to do that.

Downloads are sent with your trial — we would rather hand you the right build than have you guess at an installer.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is it one app for both Mac and Windows?

It is two native builds and one licence. Your seat works on either, and the project files are identical across both — a designer on a Mac and one on a Windows machine can pass an album back and forth with nothing to convert.

Why a subscription for a desktop app?

A fair question. The subscription covers both platform builds, the printer presets we maintain, and the connection to the Pixerbook Platform. If you would rather own a version outright, say so when you get in touch — it is not offered today, but it is a reasonable thing to want and we would like to know how many people want it.

Does it need an internet connection?

Only to check the licence periodically and to pull selections from the Pixerbook Platform. Layout and export work fully offline, which matters if you design on location or on a plane.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes — 14 days, the full application, no card. Export is watermarked during the trial so you can test the whole workflow including the printer handoff without us having to trust anybody.

Works with

Separate subscriptions.
One client record.

Album Studio is complete on its own. If you do add another product, they share the same client and event — so nothing is ever typed twice. You still buy them separately, and you can stop one without touching the other.

Request a demo

See it on your
own work.

Thirty minutes over Zoom, Meet or Teams — your choice. Send us one past event beforehand and we will set the demo up with your own photographs instead of a sample dataset.

What would you like to see?
Where should we meet?

We will send a calendar invite with the link. Around 30 minutes, and we will use your own work rather than a demo dataset if you send a past event in advance.
